– Multiple guests have reported mixed experiences with the hotel’s service, including slow or inattentive restaurant service and unaddressed room maintenance issues.

2.Room Quality
– While the rooms are generally described as “okay,” they don’t quite meet the expectations of a 5-star hotel. Some guests have encountered issues like broken balcony doors and air conditioning malfunctions.

 3. Culinary Concerns
– The hotel’s food has received criticism for its pricing and quality, especially during dinner. Suggestions are made to explore dining options outside the resort.

 4. Kids’ Club Controversy

3. Conclusion

In conclusion, the Palm Garden Resort in Hoi An boasts a picturesque location and offers several desirable amenities. However, the overall guest experience appears to fall short of the expectations one might have for a 5-star resort. While there are moments of exceptional service and care, improvements in consistency and attention to detail are essential for a more satisfying stay.

If you’re planning a trip to Hoi An and considering the Palm Garden Resort, be prepared for a mixed experience. Consider exploring dining options outside the resort and managing your expectations regarding service quality. In the end, the beauty of the beachfront location might outweigh some of the resort’s shortcomings.

3. Ratings & Real Reviews

“Hello everyone, first of all, I am very frugal and have been to many countries and hotels. So let’s get to the more positive things first.
The hotel complex is well maintained and clean! The WiFi is very good everywhere!
The rooms are okay but by no means correspond to a 5 star hotel.
The beach is extremely clean and also empty, which is apparently due to the fact that a lot of the Asian crowd doesn’t want to get a tan (assumption). So you have peace and quiet.
I think the breakfast selection is okay.
Now I come to the more negative stories.
The service at this hotel is better than any other restaurant or establishment or anywhere else. You will be served if you sit down, otherwise nothing!
Tables are cleaned but people sitting with empty glasses are ignored. At first we thought okay mentality and different country, but if I pay that kind of money, I’ll get better service in every 3 star hotel everywhere else! The balcony door in our room was broken even after we asked for it to be repaired. That means we were on the balcony on the 1st floor and locked ourselves out. Only by calling on our cell phone were we able to notify our relatives, who were then able to free us!
The pool was extremely dirty one day!
This was only done after being asked to clean it!
Our air conditioning broke down once at 5am. We were sleepless and reported it. It was then repaired relatively quickly.
We are really disappointed as these reviews of the hotel can in no way be accurate!
Unfortunately not recommended although Vietnamese are very nice people but unfortunately only outside of this facility.”

“Really lovely hotel.. we were upgraded to a fantastic 2 bed bungalow after some issues due to the room we booked not being available. My son was also quite unwell and they have a lovely doctor on staff who made multiple visits to our room to care for him twice a day for 3 days. It only cost $100AUD. The hotel is also a great location only 15 m from old town. Get a grab which is only a few bucks. It also right on the beach with gorgeous beach cabanas & a wonderful pool area. Service is excellent the staff so friendly & helpful. They even have a gym & tennis courts & kids club. Main drawback is the food which is not great & quite expensive. Breakfast buffet was average but included in price so worth filling up on and quite a good selection of things to eat eg eggs, pancakes, pastries, waffles, fruit, noodles, congee, meats, cheeses, yoghurts, smoothies. For other meals I would go across the street & also for extra water, snacks, do laundry and eat at Mi Casa who does really excellent food at a good price! I would come back!”

“The Palm Garden Resort is the perfect mix of big resort and personal service. The location is fabulous, just a short drive to the old town of Hoi An with out the hustle and bustle. Fronting a white sandy beach with cool clear water just off the grassed area with sun lounges and a bar. There are several reasonable restaurants just five minutes walk down the beach. We stayed in one of the beach front bungalows, which I highly recommend if it fits with your budget. The room was spacious, nicely appointed with a seating area out front to kick back, relax, and enjoy an afternoon drink. All the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful with any requests. Van greeted us at breakfast every morning and Mr. Vu took care of any requirements while relaxing by the beach. (particularly blowing up the water floaties). The food at the restaurants is first class but if you want more traditional Vietnamese you have to see Lily at the Ben Tau restaurant across the road. Great food at great prices. I can recommend this resort more highly. 5 stars for location, service, friendliness, and great staff. Thanks to the Palm Garden resort for making our stay in Hoi An so relaxing and enjoyable.”

“If you are booking this hotel based on it being a 5 star hotel with a kids club then DON’T!!!! There is no kids club, just a dirty play room that needs a damn good clean and there are no supervised activities as published on the website. In any other country this hotel would be sued for false advertising. The food at breakfast is good in the Terrace restaurant, but in the evening, it is barely edible. Go to the Golden Nut across the road you will not be disappointed and that is the standard you can expect in Hoi An, not the hotel, which should be ashamed of itself. Service at the pool is beyond a joke, you have to get your own and be prepared to wait for at least 30 mins for a beer and a G&T. Happy Hour it isn’t!!! All of this was raised to managment who smiled politely but did nothing. Given the owner of the hotel is supposedly big in textiles you would think he could manage to ensure that the bed sheets weren’t ripped but no! If it hadn’t been for 2 members of staff Mr Vu the lifeguard and Miss Hoang the restaurant captain as well as the gorgeous family at the Golden Nut across the road we would of changed hotels or gone home earlier. We could not of been more disappointed with the Palm Garden and would strongly suggest anyone looking for a 5 star hotel and service, book elsewhere.
